Those of you who follow my blog will know that I have a
huge small geek crush on
Matt Cutts. I guess that explains why I often stay up late watching Google webmaster videos. These videos are fabulous little snippets of SEO genius, right from the horse’s mouth.
Here are some of my favourites Cutts clips that cover SEO questions I get everyday from clients. Some of them are a little old but I reckon what he’s saying still holds true:
What is the ideal keyword density?
Should I tweak my titles and descriptions to improve my CTR?
Does the position of keywords in the URL affect ranking?
More than one H1 on a page: good or bad?
Should I use underscores or hyphens in URLs?
How much does a domain’s age affect its ranking?
5 SEO misconceptions that drove Matt Cutts crazy
Negative SEO (he looks really dashing in this one, the grey hair works doesn’t it)?
Isn’t he lovely?
I find these videos so watchable and easy to understand. Do you? If you want to watch more check out (and subscribe) to my YouTube channel. I’ll be adding more each week. If you have any other suggestions please add them to the comments below.
